Monmouth & Middlesex Have Merged

Effective January 1, 2015, The Jewish Federations of Middlesex and Monmouth Counties are now one. A new name will be announced early in 2015.

Having identified numerous challenges facing the Jewish community, from shifting philanthropic trends to concerns about the sustainability of Jewish identity and community, the merged Federations will be better positioned and have more resources to address and provide possible solutions to these and other challenges, according Mitch Frumkin, president of the newly combined organization.

“Combining and leveraging strengths will help us tackle some of the pressing challenges facing Jewish life – including engaging the vast majority of Jewish residents of Monmouth and Middlesex Counties who do not currently participate in Jewish community,” said Keith Krivitzky, CEO of the newly combined Federation.  “One of our key roles is to work with partners to create a community with compelling entry points and value for as many of our extended Jewish family as possible.”

The merged Federation has already integrated many administrative, governance, and finance-related functions. It is now moving forward with planning to enhance community engagement, outreach, and partner empowerment. Watch for details in the weeks and months ahead.

Both former Federations’ existing offices – one in South River (adjacent to East Brunswick) and one in Holmdel – remain in operation, with the administrative hub in South River. Federation intends to maintain a presence in both communities to be as supportive and effective as possible.
