Fay: An 82-year-old Woman Who Won't Slow Down

Fay speaks slowly and deliberately, but with the strong and confident voice of a woman who has been on the go for decades. Her eyes widen when she gets excited, which happens often.

After her husband died suddenly a year ago, Fay found herself lonely and isolated. Thanks to support from the Jewish Federation through the Jewish Community Center, Fay attends weekly programs that feature lectures, music, art, Jewish education and holiday luncheons.

“I don’t know what I would do if I had to stay home all day. I feel active and healthy, and I have met so many, many, many wonderful people here,” she says. “I like everybody. It’s a pleasure for me to come here and feel like I am part of something.
